Two Workshops: Portrait of a (Digital) Community / What Happens in Canada Stays in Canada

From the 27th to 29th of April, Open Source Publishing, a design collective from Belgium, offers two workshops at the iSchool. Exploring topics around Free and Open Source Software and culture, the workshops offer two and a half days of hands-on, collaborative work with publicly-available archives.

Portrait of a (Digital) Community explores and represents the ten year history of an Open Source software community. What Happens in Canada Stays in Canada looks at differences in copyright law between countries, and uses Canada’s comparatively short copyright terms to appropriate works which are not yet in the Public Domain in Europe.

The workshops are free for CCIT students and take place in Bissell 507, at the UofT St. George campus.
